Columbian Community Impact Program Graduation
In June 2020, Weston graduated from the Columbian Community Impact Program hosted by the Columbia Club. CCI is a nine month, values-based leadership experience designed to help young Columbians (age 45 and younger). The focus of the program is to enhance current leadership skills and develop new ones; identify personal core values, mission, and vision; gain a deeper understanding of the value of relationships and collaboration Identify community issues; receive insight into community engagement opportunities; and understand continuous learning through networking and mentorship Connect with community leaders.
William Plater Civic Engagement Medallion Selection
In March 2020, Weston was awarded the William M. Plater Civic Engagement Medallion. The Plater Medallion honors graduating IUPUI students for their commitment to the community through volunteer service at a non-profit agency, participation in service learning courses, voluntary service abroad or involvement with a faculty member on a community-based research project.
IUPUI Elite 50 Selection
In March 2020, Weston was selected as one of IUPUI ‘s Elite 50 award recipients. The Elite 50 program honors graduate and professional students at IUPUI, and is modeled after the university’s Top 100 Outstanding Students honors program. The program’s purpose is to recognize and reward achievement outside the classroom among the graduate and professional student population.
Teen Financial Literacy Fair
As a project captain for Prevail, Inc.’s 100 Men Campaign, Weston planned the Teen Financial Literacy Fair. The event was intended to expose young teens to financial services and potential impacts financial decisions.
Thesis Proposal
In 2019, Weston completed and submitted his thesis proposal discussing the proposed Marion County Criminal Justice Center, the Assessment and Intervention Center, and mental health in Marion County.
Order of the Barristers
In 2018, Weston was selected to the Order of the Barristers after arguing in the quarter-finals of the Moot Court competition.
